Al John O. Tenerife

Discipline: others in technology

Abstract:

The Solar-Powered Motor for Bangka was developed as an alternative to motorized fishing boat, to address fuel demands in time of fuel crises, and to help improve the standard of living of the fishermen in Catanduanes. This study designed, constructed and tested the technical capacity and acceptability of the Solar Powered Bangka. This research used descriptive developmental research type with survey questionnaires and documentary analysis as the primary data gathering tools. The system designed used DCDC controller booster, throttle control and motor. The reverse function, universal outboard motor portability, variable power generator and one-man operation of the bangka were the features of the design. As a result of the study, Solar Powered Bangka was designed and developed and tested to be cost effective and efficient. The Solar-Powered Motor for Bangka was constructed very highly capable in terms of durability, capability, technical operation and effectiveness and is highly acceptable in terms of usefulness, ease of use, economic usefulness and portability.
