Michael Denzel Asiseo | Froilan Cris Fronda | Maria Georgina Navarro

Abstract:

This study identified the psychological well-being of the relapsed patients of Serene Persona Enhancement Center in Calamba City, Laguna. Using explanatory research design with a mixed method approach, the researchers gathered data from 10 key informants鈥攖he relapsed patients of the institution. The level of well-being of the patients was measured through Carol Ryff鈥檚 Psychological Well - Being Scale and the factors that can contribute to the relapse of the patients were identified through the use of thematic analysis. The researchers found that even in the state of relapse and while receiving treatment, the patients of Serene Persona Enhancement Center had an overall high level of well-being. They were able to function everyday inside the institution. This shows that the level of well - being does not contribute as a factor for a patient鈥檚 relapse, hence, other factors must be considered. The researchers encouraged everyone to apply positive psychology and the relational context of Filipino values to live and have a positive well-being. It was also recommended that further studies look for other bases for the development of a more relevant program for the relapsed patients.
